Squid Gallery Charity Support

Squid, Mango, Bubbles and Peaches live happy, safe and comfortable lives. Unfortunately they are a minority. With such an overpopulation of cats, dogs and other animals, there are not enough good homes for animals who could make wonderful pets.

One of the missions of the Squid Gallery is to support organizations which help animals in distress and maintain their presence in loving homes. Squid art has helped raise money for the following animal related charities.

PAWS/LA

Pets Are Wonderful Support PAWS/LA has annual PET ART fund raisers to support their efforts to enhance the quality of life for people living with a disabling life-threatening or terminal illness by empowering them to keep and care for their pets.

In addition to the original Squid Gallery pieces which had have had great success at the PET ART events, Mango has made a significant contribution in the photography of Randy Knox....

Persians and Friends Rescue

"Toast Thief"

Persians and Friends Rescue is responsible for placing 150+ cats and kittens each year through their tireless work. They rescue abandoned animals from shelters and many kittens from feral colonies.

They also do weekend adoptions at the Studio City, CA pet stores: PETCO and Rusty's Pets.

For more information about adopting a kitty from them, call Robin at 818-782-9941 or visit their
web site to see their available animals.

Mango made his art gallery debut as a featured subject in the PAWS/LA Pet Art 3 silent auction.

"Toast Thief" was hotly competed for in a bidding war and sold for $155.00 the night of the event.

Not only this, but following the fund raiser, an attendee who was outbid contacted the PAWS office and asked if there was a possibility of getting a copy of "Toast Thief". Another was happily provided, so Mango contributed $155.00 TWICE to this well-deserving charity.

"Corn Chomper II"

"Corn Chomper I" was involved in a spirited bidding war and closed at an impressive $500.00. When the winning bidders went to the PAWS office to collect their purchases, they saw the "Corn Chomper II", which was reserved for Pet Art 5 and decided to purchase it as well for $500.00.

An additional print of "Corn Chomper II" was provided so it could have its place in the Pet Art 5 auction as originally intended.
